The Tara Ocean Foundation is based on a balanced economic model that combines public and private finance in the same dynamic and that gives us the means to plan our actions over the long term.

In its L’OREAL POUR LE FUTUR program, the Group is committed to doing everything possible to help meet the challenges facing the world. By 2030, 95% of its ingredients will be renewable, derived from abundant minerals or circular processes. Its formulas will be evaluated on its environmental testing platform, to guarantee their safety in the diversity of aquatic, continental or coastal ecosystems.
In this area, L’Oréal’s environmental research laboratory has undertaken several studies to measure the potential impact of sunscreens on corals: in the laboratory, in a partnership with the Scientific Center of Monaco, and in situ around of the island of Moorea near the reefs in tourist and non-tourist areas, in partnership with CRIOBE. These measurements are carried out using state-of-the-art samplers developed by IFREMER.

The protection of the environment and biodiversity is one of the priority areas of intervention of the Veolia Foundation, and it is in this capacity that it has supported Tara since 2009 as a mission partner and contributes to the sampling costs, purchases of scientific equipment and awareness-raising actions. The Veolia Foundation indeed encourages actions that educate or raise public awareness of eco-responsible behavior.
Beyond environmental concerns, the Veolia Foundation is also mobilizing for humanitarian emergencies, development aid, social ties and support towards employment.

Created in June 2006, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation works for the protection of the environment and the sustainable development of our planet.
Alongside the Tara Océan Foundation since 2007, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation is particularly active in the development and strengthening of Marine Protected Areas, in supporting polar projects, and in the fight against plastic pollution. Together with the Tara Océan Foundation, Surfrider Foundation Europe and the Mava Foundation, she is behind the Beyond Plastic Med initiative, launched on March 10, 2015 with the aim of supporting innovative and civic solutions to fight against plastic pollution in the Mediterranean Sea.On the occasion of the “Our Ocean” 2017 conference organized by the European Commission, in Malta on October 5 and 6, 2017, a framework agreement was signed between the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the Scientific Center of Monaco and the Tara Océan Foundation for Monaco Explorations. This agreement aims to pool scientific approaches and harmonize the data collected on coral and plankton ecosystems between the Tara expeditions and the Exploration of Monaco. It responds to a need for consistency to ensure continuity of scientific oceanographic research undertaken with the Tara Oceans and Tara Pacific consortia. Finally, it also draws the contours of a common future between Tara and Monaco Explorations by 2020-2021.

CNR is the leading French producer of electricity from 100% renewable sources (water, wind, sun) and the multiple-purpose concessionaire of the Rhône from the Swiss border to the Mediterranean Sea: production of hydroelectricity, deployment of navigation and port areas, irrigation and other agricultural uses. CNR is a public limited company of general interest: it is committed, in particular through its missions of general interest, to a CSR approach broken down into corporate values, which guides its mode of development and its action at day-to-day.
We are developing a river, the Rhône, and we are responsible for the management of all its uses. Although the pollution of the river does not enter directly into our missions, we cannot be strangers to the waste that flows into the Mediterranean Sea and that comes from this river, whether it is waste generated by local residents, industrialists, etc. . We have therefore decided to support the Tara Océan Foundation because the subject of microplastic pollution is particularly important today, on a global scale.
Scientists working with Tara will also be able to use data that we already have. It is therefore a matter of pooling in the general interest.
Our partnership also includes an educational and awareness-raising component, which is at the heart of the missions of the Tara Océan Foundation: informing the general public, but also communities and businesses, is fundamental for a rapid and in-depth change in individual behavior.

A specialist in cosmetic care, Biotherm has established itself as a pioneer brand in skin biology since 1952, working in particular on the benefits of aquatic microorganisms.
From packaging to formula, including education and philanthropy, Biotherm Water Lovers, Biotherm’s action platform (internal and external) contributes to the preservation of the oceans, in particular by financing projects to protect the waters of the globe, by creating ‘Hope Points’, or protected marine areas large enough to reconstitute the blue heart of the planet.
Invested in the preservation of resources, Biotherm believes that it is in line with its image and its values to support the Tara Océan Foundation and therefore becomes a solidarity partner of the Foundation in 2017.
